Pebble Beach will host the U.S. Open Golf Championship for the fifth time since 1972. The Pebble Beach layout is probably the most familiar to golf fans after the Masters since the celebrity packed pro-am has been televised annually for almost 50 years from this venue.

The previous four Opens have produced some of the most memorable shots and performances in U.S. Open history. Who hasn't seen a replay of Jack Nicklaus' one iron to 5 inches in 1972 or Tom Watson's chip-in in 1982 at the windswept 17th hole to clinch U.S. Open victories. No one will forget Tiger Wood's 15 shot victory margin in 2000 that will likely remain a record that will never be challenged.
